On the beautiful Aspotagan Peninsula of Halifax County, Nova Scotia. The hills and shoreline are dotted with these neat and well-kept country homes, largely owned by the fishermen who ply their trade out of the small harbours such as North-West Cove. This view was taken in October 2005, as the autumn colours of the hardwood trees were coming into full beauty.
As a day hike, the area is only a short drive from Halifax, the Capital of Nova Scotia, and easily reached by excellent paved roads, either along the winding shoreline(Route 3) or by Route 103, the limited-access highway from Halifax. It’s easy to take a day and explore the whole area and be back in Halifax for the evening…but take my suggestions..stay the evening, enjoy the sunsets, and eat at any of the tiny restaurants which serve the very best seafood anywhere!
