My Treasured Green Plastic Tiki
Another childhood memory…........Back in the days when I was still wearing jandals, short pants and pigtails, I had a mad craving to purchase a green plastic Tiki necklace that was for sale at the local stationery shop. I saved my pocket money for ages, or so I recall, bought the necklace, complete with it’s chain made of string, and subsequently treasured it for many years. I bought it when I was at primary school, so maybe 7 or 8 years old, and can remember doing a painting of some sort depicting it when I was at High school, so it really was something I was proud of for many years.
My Treasured Green Plastic Tiki belongs to the following groups:

I just found that after commenting on the other upload of this artwork that this wonderful image is available as a card – this will make such a fabulous thankyou to my family who bought me a beautiful Tiki last week for my birthday – to replace the one my Grandma had given me when I was young – JUST LOVE YOUR WONDERFUL WORK :)

Wow, thanks debb! (made a booboo with the other upload – hadn’t even realised it was there, so going to delete it :)). Really glad you like this one, and lucky you being given a beautiful tiki by your family. I’m thinking I may have to search for a new one myself, now that I am reminded how much I loved this old plastic one, which of course is now long gone to who knows where :). Thanks for your lovely comments!

I remember that my grandmother gave me a tiki too when I was very young. I loved it but, sadly, cannot remember what ever happened to it.
Lovely work, as usual :)
