beautiful puppy, we have these they are called Blue Merles, they have one blue eye and one brown eye, and wonderful natures. Fantastic shot. hugsxxx

  • Hi Hilary, thank you, this little one is now Mindy, and she is classed as a blue merle koolie . Do you have Koolies over in the UK Hilary ?or are they the Australian shepherd, I believe they often have a bob tail. These guys can also have the two different coloured eyes, and they have the wonderful natures as well.

they are only called blue merles here, but koolie is a lovely name., they are obviously the same breed of dog, with a diggerent name, ours all have long tails . hugsxxx

  • Hi Hilary, they are certainly different no matter how you spell it…LOL.
My friend has been breeding them for over 40 years , and she had one as a small child, so that goes back 60 years, so they have been around here for quite some time
I believe it has only been the last ten years or so that they have been discovered so to speak. Before that , generations of farmers and property owners had been breeding them as work dogs, now they are extremely popular for obedience, agility, anf family pets.
