This is actually part of a much larger piece of a tree by the river. As the paint and water were flowing this little mushroom just magically appeared. It kind of got lost in the larger painting and I thought it deserved a bit more attention. Is that what you would call serendipity? I hope you enjoy the little guy : ) I do!

    Thanks Doug. Since I started painting I have come to love orange. Before I wasn’t drawn to it (except in sunsets) but somehow in paint, I think it is an amazing color!

    Someone from RB said my painting “Hope” reminded him of an acid trip (in a good way – is there such a thing as a good acid trip?) – but my work nor my titles have anything to do with drug use or the 60’s. Its interesting to me though that people have these associations : )))

    Ah, I see the tag now with “watercolor” clearly spelled out, and noticed other references to it on other photos. I suppose other types of “paint”, such as oils and acrylics, don’t run together to form their own shapes.

    Yes, I know, Lynn. Many times happen that when you have the least expectations it is the one people like the most. It happend to my with “Autumn Leaves”. In terms of crispness and colors it is good, but it is flat in terms of photographic techniques… and PUM!!! Everyone liked it so much. Photography and all art… has to do with feelings… don’t you think?

    It is similar to a poster type paper except more shiny and slick. Paint loves to just run and move and slide; at least with watercolor; I have not yet tried acrylic on it. Part of why I like it is the unpredictability of it.
