I had been thinking about doing a piece called “War Horse” for a while as I always thought the title would be really evocative. Of course, after I started working on this, the movie / play etc came out. This has nothing to do with that play or movie but is merely a coincidence in titles. :)

30 × 22 inches
Ink / Red Wine / Coffee / Acrylic and a little bit of colored pencil on Fabriano watercolor paper

Having a great love animals, fairytales, and world mythology, Pennsylvania artist Lynnette Shelley fuses these influences into her strikingly unique illustrations. Her artwork strikes a primal chord in many viewers, with almost Jungian associations to the colors and shapes. Her artworks have been likened to images from an undiscovered ancient civilization or culture.

Wow I just love your War Horse. Dramatic red and your style is wild. I loved the movie too although i know there is no connection lol.
