12 × 14 inches approximately. Mixed Media on Canson pastel paper.

Mixed Media includes: oil pastels, colored pencils, acrylic, liquid gold leaf, sharpie, and a little bit of art markers.

Having a great love animals, fairytales, and world mythology, Pennsylvania artist Lynnette Shelley fuses these influences into her strikingly unique illustrations. Her artwork strikes a primal chord in many viewers, with almost Jungian associations to the colors and shapes. Her artworks have been likened to images from an undiscovered ancient civilization or culture.

This is glorious. Klimt or somebody got inside your soul and won’t let go! Rock on! I really like the multi-detail in this one. You are one hell of a hard working artists and I am glad to know you. Cheers, J

  • ha! we’ll see. I may need Saint Klimt’s guidance. I picked up some oil paint the other day and going to try a piece with them tomorrow. I have not used oils in about 15 years or so. could be a big unholy mess! but acrylics frustrate me and make me long for oils. So figured I’d test the waters again. I started a sketch on a wood panel tonight of a snake in a tree. Wish me luck!
