I needed to make some smaller artworks for an upcoming show, so this is the first (and probably the largest) of my “minis”. I also wanted to play around with a more subdued color scheme as a change of pace since I have been doing very colorful works lately.
I think this stylized Koi fish has a kind of japanese / celtic / art nouveau / tribal look to it.

Having a great love animals, fairytales, and world mythology, Pennsylvania artist Lynnette Shelley fuses these influences into her strikingly unique illustrations. Her artwork strikes a primal chord in many viewers, with almost Jungian associations to the colors and shapes. Her artworks have been likened to images from an undiscovered ancient civilization or culture.

Great change of colour scheme.
I think you might get to enjoy more black pen work. This is lovely!!!
Fancy trying black, gold and one other colour? That would be nice.
Just as a redbubble treat, could you consider creating a collage of 4 or six of these minis you are doing so we can get an eyeful?? ( yknow like my ‘crew members’ four piece )
keep up the great work!!
not a bad idea Stephen. I may pick four that I think go together. Or If I have four of the same animal (so far I’ve got three birds). I am thinkin gof doing a chameleon next though
