Having a great love animals, fairytales, and world mythology, Pennsylvania artist Lynnette Shelley fuses these influences into her strikingly unique illustrations. Her artwork strikes a primal chord in many viewers, with almost Jungian associations to the colors and shapes. Her artworks have been likened to images from an undiscovered ancient civilization or culture.

LOVE this it’s an awsome T Rex!!

  • Thanks Patricia. I had aborted another attempt at one (this is the second one), because I couldn’t get it right, and I felt like I was overly complicating things. This one is more bold-looking, which is fitting.

Love it!! I love the way you use oil pastels in your work, I have been playing with them recently and finding them a very enjoyable medium to use!

  • aren’t they fun? I have been using the colored pencils for the shading detailing, but I like using the oil pastels for the bigger areas of color. they are so vibrant

He’s tremendous! That look in his eye ! Yet he almost looks like he is tip-toeing up on something or someone !

  • ha ha. I don’t know how well a T-rex could stealthily tiptoe up to someone, but how scary would that be?? :O
