Having a great love animals, fairytales, and world mythology, Pennsylvania artist Lynnette Shelley fuses these influences into her strikingly unique illustrations. Her artwork strikes a primal chord in many viewers, with almost Jungian associations to the colors and shapes. Her artworks have been likened to images from an undiscovered ancient civilization or culture.

WOW brilliant artwork Lynnette, love the shading here to give depth!

  • Thank you Adam. I decided to try something more traditional as I had been doing other types of works lately. Also I had just gotten back from seeing an Edward Gorey exhibit, and was inspired by his pen and ink works (not that this picture looks anything like his work).

OMG you surpised me with this one. I adore the simplicity and beauty of this little crow. I also happened to read a lot of Poe growing up. Love the ring, the tonality and the emotion of it. I feel tentativeness when I look at the piece. I like it! A-Loht! RVG
