Gorgeous Lynette, beautiful sombre colours, as befitting the Goddess of Wisdom :)
I read the other day that although Owls all over the world are symbols of wisdom that they are actually one of the stupidest birds of all….how bizarre is that? (I don’t know if it is true though)

  • Lynnette Shelley replied

Really? I had not heard that. I’ll have to look that one up. If I was going to pick a bird that seems stupid to me, I’d have to go with the chicken. ;)

    Mikyle

Gorgeous… She has a really powerful yet serene look about her…

  • Lynnette Shelley replied

Thanks Mikyle. I was having trouble getting her expression correct. I wanted her to look as you said, but she was looking too sad at first. I had to fuss with her mouth and brows to try and correct that. I still think I see sadness in her though.

I too have heard that owls are stupid, but I’m sure any owl of Lynnette’s would be highly intelligent.

  • Lynnette Shelley replied

But of course Dave :) No stupid owls would be allowed in my drawing lol.

I agree, I definently see sadness there, however, for me that just adds to her overall expression. She looks like she has seen many things, and sad things, yet it is through this, and from this that she has gathered her strength…

I just love the intricate patterns and evocative colors you use to highlight your subjects. Each one feels organically grown rather than “made”, something I’ve always loved about ancient Celtic designs… the subtle breath of life and sense of living Unity found in each work… I sense the same from each of your works that I’ve viewed thus far. Wonderful! I could devour them like cake fresh from the oven, and a good cuppa tea!

Entwife has been my favorite username for about 10 years now, and I sign all my artwork with that nickname.

    :) wishing you laughter

  • Lynnette Shelley replied

Thank you so much for your feedback. I could use a good cuppa tea myself right now lol.
