Icon III: The Rabbit

Lynnette Shelley

Icon III: The Rabbit

The third artwork in my new ICON series – A serene and wise-looking rabbit in shades of green, gold and white.

The original artwork measures 11×15” and is rendered with oil pastels, woodless colored pencils, art pens, metallic paint pens, 18K gold leafing pen, and embellished with colored foil. I used a heavy textured Strathmore Artist paper (dark green).

Hmm, another great depiction of a subtly powerful Creature Teacher. Suggestive of the Hare in the Moon, I love how the Cyclic image is incorporated into the Rabbit’s back, making him part of the never-ending circle.

The wonderful thing about sites like this is that it creates a place where an artist can connect to their audience directly. The give and take of Art is made more complete, in my eyes. The artist creates, we are fed by the art, and in turn we feed the artist with our comments on how the art moved, inspired or connected us.

    :)
