It’s a tee. It’s a dress. It’s the new Graphic T-shirt Dress.
Hope our friend Tom Gomez may enlighten me to the history behind this beautiful old house, I think it maybe belonged to British gas at one time. This lovely building overlooks the Firth of Forth at Silverknowes, Edinburgh Scotland.

I know the building Lynne think it was a Hotel back in 2004/2005. Its near to the camping & Caravan campsite in the same location. Stunning shot!! xx
Thanks Robin, I didn’t know that building was there til I passed it.
Beautiful capture Lynne, this is a very grand house.
The history is:The house is called Muirhouse Mansion. It is an A listed Gothic mansion built in 1832 replacing an earlier mansion, on the Muirhouse Estate. The Davidson family have lived there from 1776. It was designed by Richard and Robert Dickson who also designed Leith Town Hall.
It was used by Robb & Campbell Harper Studios Ltd, photographers from 1971 until 1983, then as offices for an advertising agency, but has been empty since 1999.
The building is now being offered for sale at a price of £650,000 by Edinburgh Council, with the prospect of a hotel, a children’s nursery and flats being created in the building.
Thanks my friend for the info I knew I could rely on you to inform us.
£650,000, that is a bargain. I think I shall become a hotelier!!! Hey, Photo holidays in scotland and stay in luxury. A few 4×4s to ferry people to the highlands. Sandie and I can cook at well. A fine cellar (just for me). Printers, computers ………………… I was joking when I started typing……but Now??? Lovely image.
Haha, so easy to dream huh Gary, RB Hotel with fine wine and food…….
beautifully captured Lynn and love Tom’s history lesson, get a job with the council and you could sell the building to Gary Heald …..lol see above comment
Thanks for the kind comments Chris
Wonderful capture Lynn and thank you Tom for all the history behind it too. Awesome. My sister lives in Muirhouse… Don.
ONLY £650,000 ???? that’s Just over $1,200,000 We have boring suburban houses going for that here!!!! They’re even reducing the impact of it being A Million and something, by referring to it as “12 hundred thousand” (eg)
Mind you as much as I’d love to become a Scottish hotelier I can’t even find the price of a train ticket to MY city let alone afford flying to Scotland purchasing said building organising it for the ability to BE a hotel and opening it! then supporting it for the 5 years it takes for such ventures to them be substantial enough to support themselves!BUT Here’s a THUNK!!!Redbubble Castle!Let’s get the guys to check it out and turn it into the RB Hotel and then we can stay there and we can have conventions and balls and …..Ok I’m stopping now!Why do you let me go Blathering on in the wind!Chookas! ♥Ü♥
Oh & yeah Lynne a damn fine shot of a wonderful house! ♥Ü♥
Oh love your thinking adgray, great idea for a RB Hotel hmmmmm me thinking now, how do I get hold of that kind of money!!!
