An African white rhino painted in acrylics on canvas board.

These amazing animals, both black and white, are being poached at such a sickening rate in South Africa that if it continues, their numbers will be in decline by mid 2012. As of today, 21 March 2012, a staggering 135 rhinos have been killed in South Africa THIS YEAR.

31 March 2012 – Number of rhinos killed in South Africa is now 150!

31 Dec 2012 – OVER 600!!!!!!!

This is brilliant! Your artwork is stunning Lynda! Thank you for promoting anti-Rhino poaching, much appreciated and a BIG FAV!

  • Thankyou Magaret for your kind comments and fave! This issue has been playing on my mind a lot lately espcecially since travelling to Madikwe last year and finding out recently that 5 rhinos have been killed there this year. I can’t help but think some of them are probably ones I was lucky enough to see. A very sad thought.

This is poignant and emotive portrait of this majestic animal, Lynda.
Thank you for highlighting their plight so well…. the poaching is sickening.

  • Thankyou Jolante – their plight has been playing on my mind so much. I would hate to think that the current situation continues and that the only ones we will see are in zoos!!!!
