After visiting the Archibald Prize exhibition today, I was inspired to try and re-paint the first portrait I ever painted back in 2009. This is the result.African girl painted in acrylics on 10″ × 10″ stretched canvas.

I don’t know what the original was like but this profile portrait is a real beauty. The white clothing against the white background really allows the colour and texture of the skin to sing out. Very successful in all respects. Superb.
