7 months after the devastating and deadly “Black Saturday” bushfires of February, 2009, I ventured out to Steels Creek – not far from where I live. Initially, I must admit to being shocked by what I saw. The devastation of the bush was stunning. But with the vivid green moss and new leaves of red and green everywhere, I became optimistic as nature showed how amazingly resilient it can be. And I will never forget the only other sound I could hear apart from the stream – a lone frog. Nature really is amazing!
