The CFA (Country Fire Authority) has small fire stations all over the rural areas of Victoria and similar organisations operate in the rest of Australia. These buildings often only house one truck and are run by volunteer men and women who are a credit to their towns and districts, and because of their selfless bravery on hot and windy bushfire days, many lives and countless properties are saved every summer! This little fire station in Beaufort is very different to the normal CFA shed and was worthy of a photo when I visited recently.
