When the tide recedes, it is easy to see why this part of Victoria’s coastline is called the ‘Ship Wreck Coast’. Because of these rocks, at least 638 (Wikipedia) ships are know to have been lost including the ‘Lock Ard’ after which the Loch Ard Gorge is named.
