I used several reference photos from a holiday at Marengo, near Apollo Bay, Victoria, to create this seascape.

I am a pastel artist living in country Victoria, Australia. My subjects vary, ranging from landscapes, portraiture, animal studies, figurative, life drawing, still life and I find the challenge of painting water particularly enjoyable.
This is great…you nailed it wahini
Ha Ha! Thanks heaps wahini!!!! xx

Wonderful painting Lynda – the seagull bottom left is amazing!
Thanks heaps Terri. This one is bigger than normal because I went right to the edges of the ‘Tex’ paper, so it’s made it quite enormous with the frame around it!!! I think maybe I could have added some more gulls, but not to worry.
Lynda! So very soothing and excellently executed! Wowsers! Rock on!!!!
Thanks so much Rhino. Pretty warm here, so I wouldn’t mind being right there right now!!!
ahhh, the sea,,,warmth,, and dam,, me not thee, ugh ugh, nice art you,ve made lynda,,that boy is having fun,,unless/?there,s a great white out there??
HA HA! I do hope there are no Great White’s out there Walt! Thanks for the fantastic comment.
Didn’t expect a seascape…it gave me a jolt. Lovely
LOL! Thanks for the lovely comment Mickey.
Wow – beautiful Lynda! The waves and colours are fantastic. Love the boy and the seagull.
Thank you so much Tash.
I want to be there Lynda, it’s beautiful—— and yes; the seagull is amazing !!!
I want to be there too Norah! It is so hot here today!!! LOL! Thanks for the lovely comment.
That’s a different one from you Lynda!!!!!! I have to say, you’re a master of water. Love the colours too.
Thank you dear Colombe. Yes, it’s been awhile since I did a seascape, so I enjoyed this one. Its right to the edges of a sheet of ‘Tex’ so it has made it rather an enormous (and heavy!) painting!!!!
Colombe has just said what I was going to say, you always portray water beautifully.
Thank you so much dear Hilary.
I knew immediately that it was one of yours Lynda. The gentle but strong colours… Oh I love the blues, green of the sea. You are an expert with pastel!!! I know how quickly everything can go wrong when adding the waves on the foreground. The seagull is so well placed too.I LOVE IT!
What a fabulous comment Beatrice. I used a sandy coloured paper for this one, which I think helped me to stop overworking the water. I am really pleased you like it. Your comments are always so welcome.
