This is the second room in my studio. I have recently installed a hanging system with the intention, one day, of opening up as a studio/gallery. My studio is a wonderful old building which was originally a two-room Victorian school house. It was going to be demolished, so I put in a tender with our local Shire, and won, so I was able to move it from it’s original site to my bush block.

It’s lovely Lynda, I’m really just a bit jealous. Would love to have a place like this.

  • Thanks for the lovely comment Jim. Yes, I realise I am very lucky to have my own space and in complete isolation from the rest of my world.

It’s wonderful , you lucky lady having your own personal space no interruptions , beautiful light ,and so lovely and tidy , are you a virgoen? lol .

  • Ha Ha Irene! It is not ALWAYS this tidy!!!! I have been renovating and painted the walls recently, so it is looking much better than it used to. I still have to paint the ceiling!!!! (I am a Gemini by the way)!!!

Gorgeous Lynda. I can see by the view through the windows why you paint such beautiful bush scenes!

  • Thanks for the lovely comment Carole. Yes, I am very lucky having a studio in the middle of the bush. My only problem is the possums, who have taken up residence in the roof!!!!

I love the big windows and the lighting. It looks like you have some funky antiques there too. Very nice.

  • Hi Cal. Thanks for the great comment. Yes, I do have a few antiques!!! The cupboard was in the building when I bought it, and it was covered in layers of green paint. My husband renovated it. The old chair belonged to my mother in law, the old sewing machine is a Willcox & Gibbs, and I think it is American!!!! It does chain stitch, and was given to me when I was a child by an old man and it belonged to his mother or his grandmother! I still have the instruction book, and the drawings of the ladies show them in early Victorian garments. The old jugs are some I have collected over the years.

oh it’s lovely. Good for you adding the hanging system. Getting prepared! I’m still jealous, but you know that. Incurable lol :)

  • Thanks for the wonderful comment Hillie. Occasionally the local Tourist Info Centre send people out to look at my work, so I thought I’d better smarten the place up a bit!!! The plan is to eventually put a sign out on the road and open up as a working Studio/Gallery – maybe just on Sundays – to see how it goes. Still have to paint the ceiling, and I do have some new carpet to replace that old stripey stuff!!! LOL.

You lucky Bugger. It has so much character, I could paint and mess about in there all day, especially with a mad bird for company. Xx

  • The chair at the desk is Merv’s chair Linda! She usually sits on the back of it when she comes over to the studio. There are big chunks carved out of it!!! I tried putting a towel over it to protect it, but she just tosses that aside so I gave up!!! LOL! It is a fabulous workspace and I always feel relaxed and happy there. I am amazed at the interest in this photo. I might make a journal and add some more studio photos.

    Wunnerfull !
    Any pics from outside ?
Very classy lookin` area, but I can imagine just outta shot, our Lynda covered in multicoloured pastel dust !
    Hee Hee !

  • Hi Gordy. Yes I do have some pictures of the outside. I might make a journal entry and add some more photos of the studio. When it was moved here (about 20 years ago now) on the back of a truck it caused quite a stir!!! It had to have an ‘escort’ and traffic had to be stopped on the freeway.
