Pastel on Mi-Teinte ‘Tex’ paper (blue) – 50cm x 35cm

This painting depicts the landscape looking across to the Tallarook Ranges from the area known as Dysart, an Agricultural area close to Seymour.
Last week I hung this in the Old Courthouse Gallery, Seymour, to replace a painting that had sold. I found out yesterday (15/9/12) that this one has sold too! I am doing that happy dancing thing!

Featured in Solo Exhibition – December 2012

I am a pastel artist living in country Victoria, Australia. My subjects vary, ranging from landscapes, portraiture, animal studies, figurative, life drawing, still life and I find the challenge of painting water particularly enjoyable.

Fantastic news Lynda and why am I not surprised? It is a beautiful painting :) xx

  • It IS fantastic news Carole, because I was so surprised to find it had sold! I wasn’t all that happy with the final outcome, and I wasn’t fond of the frame!!!! Just goes to show that you can never tell what someone else is going to like!

Love the Lynda colours in this one. The little flicks of light on the foreground grass makes this painting dance.

  • Thank you ever so ever so much Mick. I really value your opinion as your work is wonderful, and it’s great to receive a comment from you.

I truly like this one simply because this really is my most favorite time of the day. Seems like every thing just slows down as if it really took mother nature more energy to create the soft warm colours and long shadows.
Congrats on selling that art work, that always calls for the “happy dance.”

  • What a beautiful comment Jim. I just love this every thing just slows down as if it really took mother nature more energy to create the soft warm colours and long shadows. That is a beautiful piece of writing!!! Still ‘happy dancing’ here!!!
