Pastel on Mi-Teinte ‘Tex’ Paper (Dark Blue) – 50cm x 35cm approx.
I don’t usually ‘DO’ flowers!!!!! This is only about the 3rd painting I have ever done involving uppity florally petally things, and in the past they have turned out looking like cardboard cut outs! The reason for this brain storm is because I am to be involved in an art show next year, with 8 artists, and part of the show is that we were all required to paint the same subject for a display (to show how the way we work differs). Unfortunately for me it was flowers, but I am not too unhappy at the way this one turned out!!!
THANK YOU for this Comment!!! Greg Pastoll – September 2012!
Uppity Florally Petally Things?
They can be far more important than kings.
Consider the joy that they bring every day:
What kind of king can compete in that way?
You’ve done them so dainty,
You’ve made them to last:
This painting has frozen forever a blast
of springtime and delicate texture and smell.
There’s nobody else that can do them this well.
