Pastel on Mi Teinte ‘Tex’ paper (Burgundy) – 50cm x 35cm approx.

Recently I had one of my strolls through the bush after a shower of rain, and found these Eucalypt leaves, so made a small painting because the colours and raindrops appealed to me.

You are so good at gum leaves and raindrops! Painting raindrops is another thing I have avoided because I am terrified of it. Maybe that should be my next challenge :)

  • Thanks heaps Dianne. They are surprisingly easy!!! Leaves are just a ‘blend’ of the colours in the background and only a few leaves need to be prominent. Light at the bottom of the drops, with a darker area beneath to bring the lighter area forward, then it is just the darker background colour that they are sitting on, and a bit of light within that and at the top. Do have a go!
