Pastel on Mi Teinte ‘Tex’ paper (brown) – 70cm x 50cm
This is a change from my usual burgundy coloured paper for landscapes, and I’m not sure if I will use it again. It’s a bit ‘deadening’. This is another painting derived from the Tarcombe area of Hughes Creek, completed from sketches and a reference photo from a camping trip a couple of years ago. There is an art show coming up with a theme of ‘Earth, Wind and Water’ so I might slip this one into it!
28th March – Thank you SO MUCH everyone, for your wonderful feedback. I’ve decided, thanks to you, that my apprehension about the brown paper was unfounded! This morning, before framing the painting in a wonderful deep gold frame that really suits it, I took out that annoying tree stumpy thing that was just about bang in the middle, and that is a big improvement!
