Rocks & Ripples - Howqua River by

Pastel on Colourfix Paper (Burgundy) – 35cm x 50cm

This was painted a few years ago during a camping trip to the Howqua River, Northern Victoria.

With many thanks to Greg Pastoll who left this amazing verse as a comment!
Herein lies the river sprite, behold her, if you dare.
Your feet are cool, your soul is soothed, your eyes are everywhere,
and sounds abound, from all around, low ripples, branches creak,
while singing symphonies of light forbid the wise to speak

I love your palette here, Lynda. The complementary colours really create a wonderful vibrancy, each making the other more alive. The water is so beautifully handled and the light you have captured is brilliant. Love this painting and again inspired to bring out my pastels again.
