Pastel on Canson Mi-Teinte ‘Tex’ paper (Burgundy)

Let this be a lesson to you fellow artists! I entered Symphony of Bush Colours into two art shows! I thought it wouldn’t sell at the first one, and would therefore be available for the second, but lo and behold! Not only did it sell, but it won ‘Best in Show’! So the dilemma I was faced with was to either (Plan A) withdraw it from the second show, or (Plan B) do another one! I opted for Plan B but only had a week to do it in, and I have just sweltered in unbelievable sauna like conditions of the most incredible heat to finish it today, and get it inside a frame! It has to be delivered on Tuesday!

Again, this is a depiction of the Australian Bush, which I am fortunate enough to live in the middle of!

STOP PRESS – SOLD IT THIS WEEK (26th June 2012) I can eat!!!!

    Well done Lynda!
You have worked very hard …and it is beautiful!

  • Thanks Sandra! I came into the house with a scarlet face and sweat dripping off my nose! I s’pose we have to suffer for our art don’t we? LOL!

Stunning work , I love the light through the trees . Is this the one you are working on with your grandson ? x

  • Hi Irene and thanks for the great comment. Yes, this is the one I was working on with Tommy for company. It’s been very quiet here today without him and a little bit lonely!!! He went home yesterday, but he rang me last night to tell me he was feeling sad because he misses me!!!

And now the question remains – will this one also be best in show and get sold! Good luck lynda, it’s beautiful

  • Thanks Dianne. I love your optimism, but I will not hold my breath, as the next one is a much bigger show, with lots of professional artists involved!!! I have entered 4 paintings. I’ll let you know how I go, (or maybe not – LOL)!

Congratulations Lynda, another amazing piece of work! Love the light. I’m sure this one will sell and win prizes as well. I’ve been to a lot of art shows and you belong up there with the best of them. And congratulations for finishing it under pressure (been there, done that)
    : )

  • Thanks heaps Alison. I was worried I would make a hash of it, but I am happy with the outcome! Working under pressure works well sometimes! LOL!

Magical Lynda! LOl re your lesson, yes always been careful not to do that..![ ps I have air con in my room a must have!! ]

  • First time I’ve ever done it too, but I won’t do it again!!!! LOL! I would love to have an air con, but I don’t have the power connected properly, just a lead from the shed which is enough to run my music and a fan!!! To get the power connected involves digging trenches and expense as the studio is quite a distance from the house.
