Pastel on Canson Paper (dark blue) – 30cm x 20cm approx.
This is a painting I took off the wall the other day thinking I would photograph it and add it to RedBubble. I was surprised to find the date on the reverse was 1999! It depicts my two sons and their girlfriends ‘de jour’ during a beach holiday at Apollo Bay. I called it ‘Slip Slop Slap’ because there was an advertising jingle at the time (which I’m sure many Aussies will remember, and now the tune will be running through their heads) for a campaign to prevent skin cancer. It went along the lines of “Slip-Slop-Slap; Slip on a Shirt, Slop on Sunscreen, and Slap on a Hat”
