Yep, that burgundy paper! Lol! Love it Lynda! And the brilliant blue in the water is what really makes this! Spot on!

  • Thanks heaps Sally. I LURVE that burgundy paper! Something that annoys me is that I have trouble getting the colours looking the same in a photo as in the original painting, which really p’s me off!

Very hard to get the same colours and it is never the same as the photo…well, your art is even better than the photo! I have yet to give the burgundy a go but it’s coming!

  • I know you will love the burgundy! It makes a lovely ‘warm’ background colour, which gives some excellent darks, making a great contrast for the lighter colours. Go get some Sal!!!! Let me know what you think.

Your water scenes are always a wow Lynda. Something I’ve never really tackled, must try!!

  • Oh you would be a whizz at water Norah! I think it is just about my favourite subject. I love the blending and fiddling around to get it looking authentic. Thanks for your lovely comment.

Fantastic colour and reflections. Love the vivid blue in the foreground – it really gives it depth against the muted background :)

  • Hi Carole. Thanks for your very kind comment. I have just been having a quiet little seethe about how unlike the REAL painting the photo colours have turned out! I suppose they are not too far off the mark, but it really annoys me that I can’t get them the same! The painting looks so much better than this photo!

Wow – just love that water and all that light – just what you are so good at – well done

  • Thanks so much Jules. Lovely to hear from you. Hope you are not TOO busy at work, and getting a chance to do some painting occasionally.

I know how you feel. I have the same problems with my photos too. I then have to try to adjust the colours through Picasa, but you can never really get them the same. It still looks great though :)

  • Yes – It is a bit annoying, but not much that can be done about it. I notice the colours are different on my home computer to my work computer too, so it’s a real ‘hit and miss’ job to know how the colours look!!
