Pastel on Mi -Teintes Tex paper (burgundy) 75cm x 55cm

The Old Goulburn Bridge (built in 1892 at a cost of 3,175 Pounds) has been painted by me several times, and also by many other artists. It used to form part of the old Hume Highway, but was bypassed many years ago. Now it is to become part of a walking track.

I am a pastel artist living in country Victoria, Australia. My subjects vary, ranging from landscapes, portraiture, animal studies, figurative, life drawing, still life and I find the challenge of painting water particularly enjoyable.

I love this Lynda, your handling of the light is stunning as usual :)

  • Great to hear from you Matt, and thanks for the lovely comment. I am a bit disappointed in how this came up in the photo, but it is impossible to get ’em perfect. In the original painting there is more contrast between the tree and the rest of the painting.

Wow Lynda – if only I could get my lights to light-up as you do – wonderful work.

  • Thank you Jules. I am finding the Unison pastels great for giving strong contrasts. I mentioned above to Matt I get annoyed with the way some paintings photograph and it is hard to get the colours right, and this was the case here. The tree looks much better In the original.
