I completed this about a week ago and have donated it as a raffle prize to a fund raiser for a child of a friend, (a little boy called ‘Hamish’) who, at only 4 years old, has just been diagnosed with cancer. Doesn’t seem at all fair!

The painting is from reference sketches of the Trawool area during autumn a couple of years ago. I was very happy with the colours and the background hills, so I might do a larger version.

I saw this painting in front of my page, did not know it was yours Lynda, but I thought WOW! and the wow factor it is. So much light and the colours are fantastic. I love the purples among the yellow green. It is such a subtle, gentle and again strong scenery.

  • Thanks for a fabulous comment Beatrice. I used a golden coloured paper for this one, and it worked well.

Oh Lynda, that glorious golden afternoon light; you’ve captured the warm, drowsy feeling so beautifully!

  • Thanks for the lovely comment Bevan. It is not quite so warm and drowsy today – more like wet and dreary!!! LOL!
