I finished this painting a couple of weeks ago. It is the Goulburn River near Seymour, and I did this as a demonstration piece for Artist’s Palette magazine. I used reference material which I obtained by sitting beside the river on a late summer evening, just as the sun was going down and the mosquitoes were coming out!!! I made several quick sketches to capture the fading colours and I also took some photographs.
