Brilliant Lynda! Great composition! Beautiful light, colour and texture …and plenty of action!

  • I’m glad you think the composition works Sandra. Took me awhile and several goes to get those figures looking O.K. and in perspective!!!! I devoured a lot of my pastels on this one!!!!

Stunning work Lynda, no wonder they wreck their backs :-)

  • They actually had some of those ‘hangers’ that support their backs these days Matt, but they were too ‘busy and distracting’ to include in the painting. I left them out and made ’em bend their backs a bit more like the shearers had to in the GOOD OLD DAYS! LOL!!!!

Shove over Fred & Tom Lynda’s in the room!
This is everything I expect from a Lynda Robinson
    and more cos it’s SOOOO B I G !!!!!
You get it perfectly! – that startling daylight through the windows and the grain of the wooden floors and the texture of the wool
Love the shearer’s footy clobber and the tatts! lol
It is the Modern Day version to the classic but every inch as good!
I hope the farmer that commissioned it and will soon have it hang proudly on his massive blank wall will allow you to show it at times (Thus increasing it’s value) You can’t say you haven’t enjoyed doing it and are proud of it! ♥
Now sit back on your gorgeous verandah with a Grigio and wait for the accolades to roll in!
    - MORE !! MORE !! ENCORE !! BRAVO !! MORE !!!!! ☼Ü☼
Chookas Lady Lynda Master Painter! ♥Ü♥

  • Thank you Alyssa! It sure was a CHALLENGE! And that surface was quite rough, so one day while I was working I left a bit of DNA from my bleeding fingers!!!! I was really scared when I started it because I thought I would never be able to do it on such a scale! Fair enough with a landscape, because who cares if a tree is a bit skewed, but it took awhile to get those figures right and the perspective looking O.K.! I will have a little sip of something now!!!

Tom Roberts – ‘Shearing the Rams’

Not that the comparison is what you were after but someone has to put it here.
You have your own skills and your own unique style but they are comparable in standard! – favourably so!
    Bravo! Ü

this is a very complex subject, I know I have painted a few and worked in a few sheds in another life, so to have pulled this off, so spectacularly, with all that movement, reflected light and dust, you have done this justice, well done you!

  • Wow – that is a fantastic comment coming from you Jonesey!!! Thank you very much.

The perspective is spot on and the way they are bent to their work!
I thought that would have been the easy bit – you do such fantastic figures and portraits! You even got the sheepas right! Ü
And the composition is spot on ! I love the colours and the way you get the outside world to be included I can even smell the lanolin!
    Awesome lady! ♥Ü♥

  • You are so descriptive Alyssa! Thank you! As always you flatter me far too much! I know I aint no Tom Roberts, but the compliment is incredible!!

Fantastic!!! This is another great piece. The colours are so vibrant and there is so much “action” in this work. Well done.

  • Thank you very much Mr. S! As always, your comments are extremely appreciated
