My FIRST painting completed in 2010!!!! Using reference material from a trip to Marengo Beach, near Apollo Bay, Victoria. Also using my Christmas present from my husband – a lovely new set of Unison Pastels!!! I love ’em (and him)!

I must go down to the seas again,
To the lonely sea and the sky.
I left my vest and socks there.
I wonder if they’re dry?

OMG!! its lovely!!! The colours just glow. You certainly are the master of painting water. The sky is magnificent and you can even smell the sea air. Well done and congratulations on your first art work for 2010, and I trust we will see many, many more.

  • Thank you for such a wonderful comment Paul. I really enjoyed doing this and if paintings could flow off the end of my pastels as easily as this one did it would be fantastic!!!! Unfortunately it doesn’t happen very often!

I echo Paul’s comment, Lynda, and add that you’ve painted one incredible sky! Beautiful, my friend!

  • Many thanks Pat and a very Happy New Year to you. I had a lot of fun with the sky which involved a LOT of artistic licence!

Like Paul Starkey said…“you can smell the sea air” what a beautiful introduction to 2010! Well done Lynda my brilliant and clever friend!

  • I’m loving these Unison pastels Sandra! They are great for ‘scumbling’ and the texture is just right – not too soft, nor too hard. I need a few more colours. I had fun with the sky which involved a huge amount of ‘artistic licence’!

Lovely work Lynda,I like your little poem too

  • Thanks Jeff. I can’t take credit for the poem! ‘Sea Fever’ is a famous poem by John Masefield, but this little version is Spike Milligans version of it! If this link works you can see it HERE
