Marengo Sunrise by Lynda Robinson
Clear

Pastel on Colourfix paper – 70cm x 50cm

A walk on the beach on a warm summer morning at about 6.00 a.m. revealed these amazing clouds and colours. There was absolutely not another soul around, so I had the opportunity to sit undisturbed and make colour notes as well as take a few photos for later reference.

Note: for George Sanderson – your birds have migrated!!!!!

The golden clouds are scurring across the gentle breeze
The sun will warm the day with growing ease
    My soul will never miss
The love of our first kiss
For it echoes in the million ways we please

Each morning we shall wake together
And travel the journey in all weather
Our life will show the bliss
    Of each and every kiss
For our souls desire love’s eternal teather

I will forever walk beside you
And you shall always hold my hand
Nothing will ever come between me and you
As we travel across this life’s land

Softly seagulls cry as they scrable for their feed
Gentle crolching sounds of waves escaping out to sea
    My heart knows bliss
    On shores like this
When you walk the morning sands with me
