Pastel on Canson mi teintes paper – (grey) 70cm x 50cm

I did this many years ago when I was first experimenting with pastel!! The only part that is ‘real’ is the first cow, (for which I used a reference photo) and the rest was made up as I went along.

I had a feeling that you might be just a sophisticated farm girl. lol This is really well done. Great composition. Like it very much Lynda.

  • That’s me Jim!!!! (I don’t know about the sophisticated bit)! I was brought up on a farm, and am a country girl through and through! Thanks for a great comment. This painting is out of the archives!

Very atmospheric. It feels like early morning mist before a hot day coming. It makes me wonder what fresh is like and what cow poop is like? Lovely pastel

  • Well I could say it was intentionally meant to look like early morning mist, (ha ha ha) but I the truth is I just mucked around and the ‘atmosphere’ developed. I do recall that I only used about half a dozen pastels. I appreciate your comment very much, as I am full of admiration for your work.

it is always my pleasure to see the work which great artists had done in their early time. it suggests me the secret path on which they walked and then artists’ figures appear in 3D like statue. thank you Lynda for sharing your early time pastel work. of course i love it. very nice work. By the way i envy your background as a country girl. i grew up in a city. then i feel some lack of sense and love about landscape.

  • Thanks for a wonderful comment Hidemi. I am totally a country person and would be most unhappy if I had to live in a city. In fact, I don’t think I could do it!!!!

Very talented even if it was a long time ago. If we have to live in the city we can still dream, or even better look at the places RB people put up for us to enjoy.

  • What a great comment! – I think you have just made my day FM!
