Pastel on Canson paper (blue) – 50cm x 35cm
FEATURED ON ‘EXPLORE’ RedBubble Homepage – 5th June 2012
This depicts a lovely old shearing shed at Tallarook, and since I did this painting a few more planks have dropped off the walls!! We pass it every time we go to Melbourne and it is quite a local landmark.

Linda you are one amazing women, you should make a line of postcards and sell them in art galleries and information Centres around Australia Have you thought about this? They are all just so stunning and I think they will sell very well. Cheers Esther
Well Esther – asamatterafact I DID win a postcard comp for our local Shire several years ago with one of my paintings, (must upload it one of these days) and they made a couple of my paintings into postcards which are for sale at Info Centres around the area. The Shire gets the money though! I just got the kudos of winning the competition!! I do also make my own greetings cards and prints, which I sell at a few local venues, but by the time I pay for the ink for printing, the mounts and the envelopes it is hardly worth my while. I need some entre entrepen entrepeno entrepenur (oh heck! one of those people that promote stuff for you!) to do it all for me!

Fabulous capture Lynda. This is the older style woolshed as see around these parts as well. They are now building the more modern ones and it will take away the old style feel.
I agree Noelene. Some of the old shearing sheds around this area are so appealing both externally and internally. I have a commission to paint a shearing shed interior and it has to be a very large painting!!! I bought several sheets of board yesterday, and will paint the surface with the sanded gesso, so it is going to be a HUGE but interesting challenge!!!!

another great image, (and just between us two, and without making you blush…. how long have you been applying pastel to paper in such a great way)? :>))
Thank you for a lovely comment Linda! In answer to your question, I have been painting/drawing since I was a little kid, but took it up more seriously around 1985 using watercolour at first, then oil, and then got really hooked on pastel around 1988ish.
