Pastel on Colourfix Paper (gold) – 55cm x 35cm approx.

This glorious specimen of a Redgum eucalypt is one of many which stand ‘guard’ on the banks of the Sunday Creek, a picturesque area close to my home.

    Wow, really beautiful Lynda!

  • Whose a very quick off the mark girl today then Maree!!! LOL! Thank you so much. I’ve been working on this on and off for about a week. I may work on it a bit more later, but at the moment it is having a rest, while I make a start on something else!

This huge twisted trunk has plenty of stories to tell, I imagine. Really beautiful subdued light, Lynda. :)

  • Thank you for the lovely comment Frannie. This is an area which is only a hop and a skip from my home, so I often go here, just to sit and enjoy the environment. It’s a peaceful place.

Love the blues in the trunk Lynda. Its amazing how light changes colours at different times of the day.
I might check out my eyes at sunset, they might change from blood shot to Lynda tree trunk blue. :)

  • Thanks for the great comment Mick. I was a bit concerned about the ‘blueness’, but that is how the light made this tree appear during late afternoon light, and the other thing that struck me was the strong contrasts between the foreground and the background. Thanks for visiting my work.

    cheers, Bev

  • Thank you for the fantastic comment Bev. I wonder how old this tree is? I love the eucalypts around creeks and rivers.
