The Colours of Evening

Lynda Robinson

The Colours of Evening

Pastel on Colourfix Paper (burgundy) 35cm x 50cm

I just love this time of day! The dry Australian landscape is enhanced by the soft lilacs, pinks and golds that Ma Nature splashes around before she puts the sun away!!!!

The Colours of Evening belongs to the following groups:

* Painted Nature *, Australia! You're Standing In it...., Contemporary Pastel Painters (2 per day), First Things, Hand Drawn or Painted Art of Happiness or Joy, Imaginative Realism, Impressionism Café, Impressionist Art and Landscape Painting

There has got to be a song in here somewhere! Very nice the way the light leads you back into the left and then the blue shadows bring you around and back into the painting on the right. Good job!

  • Lynda Robinson replied

Thanks for putting such a lot of thought into this really lovely comment Randy. It’s one from the ‘archives’ so not the best quality image, but I did love this painting when I finished it. The location is not far from my home.

A most pleasing impression Lynda. You certainly have the hues nailed as to how the scene would look in the evening…but then you’re the master at that. Hugs & XX, Ron

Thanks heaps Ron. It is always such a pleasure to receive your wonderful, positive comments.

You colour not only our evenings Lynda but our life. I’d like to repeat what I have said before.
Your Art Lynda, created with imagination love and care,
    is not a selfish endeavour,
for such delights can be shared by all.

  • Lynda Robinson replied

I am going to sit on my verandah, look out over the Tallarook Ranges, and the tops of the trees which constitute my bush block and enjoy a glass of something cold! I wish you could join me! Lynda, this is BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks for bringing it to the Group !!

  • Dayonda

    Dayonda

Ah, I forgot about suggesting a few more Groups:
Desert Heat, - Sunrise, Sunset photog - Dawn & Dusk Light - Stillness Speaks - Trees - Australian Native Plants - Aussie Bush Paintings. I’m kind of disappointed to see there’s no Group for the Tasmania State. Low population, probably, which is wonderful. Still, there’s one for almost every other State and area. I’m currently trying to learn everything about Oz that I know about the US. Won’t happen for a long time- due to my memory, I guess. As they say, “Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most.”
    Best- Dayonda

  • Lynda Robinson replied

Thanks for the lovely comment and for all those suggested groups Dayonda. I will investigate! I am already in Aussie Bush Paintings, but not the others. I am eternally grateful and feel really fortunate that I live where I do!!!! Australia is an artists’ paradise!

Actually to try to put it into words, I wish I could have been standing in that clearing yesterday when I married my soulmate, we had planned to do it under the old fig tree opposite where we live, but we had the first rainy day in ages so did it in our courtyard instead (it was perfect anyway!) But the colours in your painting would have made for some incredible photos.

  • Lynda Robinson replied

Oh HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Elaine! Love is in the air!!!! I am heading towards Adelaide tomorrow to attend Simon Aberle’s wedding to Claire O’Brien!!!! My first Invitation to the wedding of people I have never met!!!!! LOL!!! Can’t wait to meet them!!!! They are getting married on the beach! Glad your day was perfect and I wish you many many years of happiness. XO

Another beautiful piece Lynda ! you have a knack of getting the light just right and the shadows are perfect. You portray your country so wonderfully, I would love to visit some of the places you have painted .
We ge documentaries on tv and Australia is always shown as an arid inhosipiable place !!

  • Lynda Robinson replied

Thanks heaps George. I agree, those T.V. documentaries focus a lot of the time on the ‘outback’ and inhospitable areas. Australia is so much more! I am really pleased if a little bit of that message is getting across through my art, and thanks for a fantastic comment. Would love to see you here one of these days George!

Ahhh ! Linda ,you see what is there rather than what you think is there, that evening glow where everything takes on a hue of the surrounding colours & casts, that softening of the textures in the mid & far distance & the fact you have captured that ambience of the evening. A real stunner !!!!!!

  • Lynda Robinson replied

Thanks for taking the time to make such a well considered and detailed comment Bill. I really appreciate and look forward to your feedback.

  • Jim Phillips

Everyone has a time of day that is their time, you’ve done a wonderful job at capturing mine. When the shadows reach just as far as they can and the colour of the surrounding landscape turns to a golden glow, that when I can clear my mine and my problems don’t seem as great. Gorgeous work Lynda. It’s a favorite.

  • Lynda Robinson replied

Thank you very much Jim. I cannot believe how much thought people put into their comments!!! This is a really special one and I appreciate it more than you will ever realise. xo
