Reynaldo
wow linda beautiful looks pastel, watercolour great job dear
Lynda Robinson replied
It is pastel Reynaldo, but I don’t know whether to continue working on it, or call it finished.
andygibb
soooo beautiful, wonderful pose, detail, curves and lines…beautiful impression of a beautiful figure xxx
Lynda Robinson replied
Hello Andy! Great to hear from you. Thanks for your comment.
Paul Starkey
Hi Lynda, I’d call it finished. I love the way the material just bleeds off and the highlights on her botty. But you’re right, you could fuss around with this for ever as there is so much detail I know only you could add, but this is beautiful as it is.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks for your highly valued opinion Mr. S. The colours are a bit more subtle in the original. Yep, I have been “fussing” and it was too cold in the studio so I propped this up on the kitchen table and I’ve made a helluva mess so I’d better go and clean it up!!!!!
Jim Phillips
Looks great. I know you got the flesh tone right on the money.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks Jim. I ‘lost’ the flesh tone a couple of times and was beginning to overdo it so I just stopped! I value your opinion greatly. The majority of responders (or is that respondees)! have said ‘STOP’! What would I do without you!
Leslie Gustafson
I think it is beautiful, stunning really!! The only thing for me is the tip of the thumb needs a bit more definition for symmetry with the others. ( and yes I know that’s a bit picky but I overfocus:
) Other than thatperfection!! I think your nudes are so well doneLynda Robinson replied
I overfocus too! It is my downfall! Most people have said to stop so I have for the time being, and I will have a little rethink over the weekend. Then I will probably start fiddling and fussing again, but it is good to feel that I don’t HAVE to.
Mrswillow
I agree with Paul Lynda…I would leave it as is.Just beautiful and just enough detail!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you for your highly valued opinion Sandra. I think I will just stop, for at least awhile anyway. I had it looking better about an hour before I stopped!
Linda Callaghan
wow what a sexy pastel Lynda….I would say she is finished!! what more could you add to such a beautiful pastel painting….perfect!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks Linda. I value your opinion too. I have turned it to the wall and will look at it again next week with fresh eyes!
Paul Starkey
haha love your work Mrs Robinson.
Corinne Pouzet
Don’t touch it anymore !!! just perfect to me like that Lynda..BEAUUUUUTIFUL pose and light. Super great work ! Love it
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you so much Corinne. I really value your opinion too. For the time being I have turned her to the wall, and will have a look with fresh eyes next week. My gut feeling now is to leave it alone and that is the advice most people have given me. Most reassuring!!!
Irene Burdell
Well in my humble opinion I think it is beautiful and doesn’t need anything else doing to it . Gorgeous work.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you Irene. I appreciate your humble opinion very much.
Paulina Kazarinov
Wonderful work, so complete! Great lighting!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you Paulina. I am leaving it alone for awhile, and will look at it with fresh eyes next week. I will probably leave her as she is. I value your opinion.
Linda Ridpath
i think it looks finished lynda, listen to your little voice…. its really a great piece xx
Lynda Robinson replied
I’m listening Linda. I think you are right!
Elaine Green
Superb just as it is, I love the pink filmy satin.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you Elaine. Most people share your opinion too, so I am going to have a look at it with fresh eyes next week, but will probably leave it as it is.
Brian Towers
Knowing you Lynda, you can even improve on perfection. (That’s a ten dollar compliment). You’ve got the female form and silk at it’s best I reckon so no need for further work. It’s not fair for one artist, delightful as she is, to have all that talent, but then we’d miss the pleasure of seeing such wonderful paintings. Another ten dollars!
Lynda Robinson replied
The cheque is in the mail Brian!!! XO
Agnes McGuinness
Stunning work, Linda. I wouldn’t change a thing. Agnes xx
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks Agnes. Most people seem to agree with you!
Margaret Harris
Beautifullly done Lynda !!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you very much Margaret.
Linda Bennett
I see absolutely NOTHING wrong with this!!! You’ve out done yourself once again!!!!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks so much Linda. I will have a look at her with fresh eyes next week, but the majority response is leave it alone!
Valerie Simms
Perfect as it is Lynda!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks for your highly valued opinion Val. Most share it!
Edzie
Beautiful work Lynda. I’d say done, in my professional opinion (cough! cough!). No, seriously, It’s a beautiful work.
Lynda Robinson replied
You need a spoonful of cough mixture Edzie! Thanks for a great comment and most people agree with you.
GEORGE SANDERSON
You cannot improve on perfection Lynda ,This is absolutely stunning !!
the musculature is spot on and the skin tone is perfect, it needs nothing more done !
Anyone looking at this will immediately know, It’s a Lynda Robinson masterpiece
ps, I’m cheaper than Brian !
Lynda Robinson replied
The cheque is in the mail for you too George!!!
Randy Sprout
Ok, done on this side. Roll her over and show us how complex those angles get on the other side. Hah! You color choices for the skin tones are “righteous”!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks for a great comment Randy. Much appreciated my friend.
Lorenzo Castello
Well done, this is perfect.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you Lorenzo. I just discovered it has been ‘featured’ in the Artistic Nude group, so that is MOST reassuring!
Simon Aberle
It’s beautiful Lynda, and I reckon it’s finished. It looks great!
Sometimes less is more :)
Lynda Robinson replied
You are absolutely right with your ‘less is more’ remark. I find it really difficult to put it into practice though!!!! If Lorenzo Castello (comment above yours) thinks it’s O.K. that is good enough for me!!!! I LOVE his work! (Love yours too of course)!!!!
Colombe Cambo...
Lynda your touch is exquisite! The softness of her skin is palpable, it is like that of a peach…. The tones are wonderful and full of reality, she looks like she’s going to move at any minute. I love the folds in the silk (if it isn’t silk, you’ve made it luxurious looking) and all the colours work really well together. To me it is very much finished and so incredibly inspiring!
xoxo
Lynda Robinson replied
Wow Colombe – thanks for a MAGICAL comment.
bevmorgan
Stunning piece of work, Lynda. I am in awe of the luscious skin tones. Love the pose and the wonderfully rendered cloth. A masterpiece to be sure.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you so much Bev. XO
Lynda Robinson
We’d like to know a little more about you for our files!!!!
maria paterson
Firstly id like to say how beautiful a job youve done with this. I always pick up on the first thing that hits my eye, the overall figure, no problems as everyone has commented its as finished as it needs to be. But my eye picked up the left hand bleed line from the back of the hand travelling in a straight line downwards like it was cut out almost, that might not be a problem for most people. For me id have to vary it a bit so the hand doesnt look disconnected. Hope that sounds ok lynda
Lynda Robinson replied
Great comment Maria. I see what you mean. I will go and look at the actual painting – I did put an indication of the arm attached to the hand beside the head and it doesn’t show up too well in the photo. I have had some wonderful response to this request for opinions and a lot of bubblemail. Many thanks for your input, it is very much appreciated.
elenaoleniuc
Excellent work Lynda ! You are a master !
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you so much Elena.
nowakrichard
It looks great the way it is!
Beautiful representation of the female form!
Richard
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you Richard for your reassuring comment. It is very much appreciated.
annamora
..found out only now … and you already have your answer many times over …
beautiful Lynda ..I love the strong triad of light blue, purplish and skin …. each in a great luster …
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you Anna. You are such an expert with life drawing, and I value your opinion greatly. I am going to take a serious look at this tomorrow and maybe make a few very minor adjustments.
BLYTHART
This certainly looks finished to me Lynda. Apart from the obvious charms of the lady, I have to say I am impressed by your representation of drapery. Only really good artists can paint draperty and make it look like drapery, which proves what I have always believed – that you are a really good artist Lynda.
That was a genuine compliment but I suppose there would still be no harm in me asking for a $9 fee. You’ll notice I am undercutting my friend Brian Towers by $1 :)
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks Dave – that comment is worth every cent! (I’ll have to get a new cheque book soon)!!!!
Noelene Davies
Stunning work, beautifully presented.

mikebov
Stunning work Linda, but I have to agree with Mariart
The left hand does look a little disconnected, but a very minor point.
My eye is drawn to the other end of the canvas. the curves and skin tone are wonderful as is the way the material drapes is superb.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks Myke! Get the name right willya!!! I am Lynda with a WHY? (Just joking)! On the advice of Mariart I did do some slight adjustments to the hand, and on the advice of Lorenzo Castello I did some slight adjustment to the tones, and she does look a lot betterer all finished and snoozing in her frame. Will enter her inour Annual Exhibition at the end of the month.
Terry Hinkle
Yes finished… beautifully finished.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you very much indeed Terry. I am really pleased to received a comment from you.
Colin Cartwright
Yes! Tie your hands behind your back, Linda (not easy)!
This is perfectly painted the way it is.
Wonderful colours, tones in folds of cloth, pose and skin tones – all are sublime!
Colin Cartwright
oops…Lynda, I got the name wrong for the first time (just like Myke/Mike, above)...lower lip wobbles…
....small sorry voice…
Lynda Robinson replied
Stop making me laugh!!!! It’s O.K. Colyn, you can stop wobbling the lower lip!
kevinmawson

genaro1
very nice work
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you very much. I appreciate your comment.
Barbara Glatzeder
I’m probably too late, haha, but I think it’s finished, too – I really like the contrast between the ever so smooth and silky skin and the drapery trailing off into roughness at the bottom. Funny enough I had a thing about the hand, too, but there was so much else perfect to look at that it only crept up again reading others’ comments ;-) Good work, it’s beautiful!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks heaps Barbara. Your comment and input is very much appreciated. I did make a few minor adjustments (including to the hand) before I framed it and she is now hanging in a local gallery.
Barbara Glatzeder
oh nice one!! Great to hear :-))

Hi Lynda, Just wanted to congratulate you on your Top Ten place in the Nude on Paper challenge in the Works on Paper group with this wonderful painting! Well done my friend!
Lynda Robinson replied
WOW! Thanks for letting me know Paul. I just went and checked and I see that you are a Top Tenner too! Congratulations back at ya!!!!! I also noticed that the winning entry received 10 votes, and so did I (but I came second)!!!!! Not quite sure how that works, but I am still thrilled to bits!

Samariah 2 days ago
Hey Lynda,
I Love to paint cloth, and I sometimes I am actually pleased with my cloth!
This is coming from someone whom is humbled by your art . . . me!
Since you asked and it sounds like you want feedback on this piece of work, here’s a thought:
I think there may be a reason you are questioning if it needs more work.
The cloth on the woman flows down beautifully, however, I think the rest of the cloth that flows at the edge of the table and on down until it fades out (love the fading, by the way) might be what your uncertainty is. Just a tiny bit more smooth folds that flow down from the table would add a bit more of a striking element to the painting.
But please, ignore my comment if it doesn’t fit for you—you are the amazing creator and I just thought I would jot down a thought I had, in case you might like my thought. :)
Wish you much joyful painting,
Samariah
Lynda Robinson replied 1 day ago
Thank you so much for such a detailed comment Samariah. I love your thoughts very much and your input is greatly appreciated. She is all finished and framed now, and hanging in a local restaurant!!!! LOL! I wish you much joyful painting for 2010 too.
