'Silverton Creek'
Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper (dark blue) 70cm x 50cm
Silverton Creek has been painted thousands of times by many artists, and this is my version! The town of Silverton is just on the edge of outback Australia and up the road a bit from the mining town of Broken Hill. The whole area is such an interesting place to visit. It is an artist’s paradise!!! As you can see there is absolutely NO water in the creek, but the eucalypt trees throughout the creek area are simply magnificent.

Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks Gorgeous!
ISMAIL ALAOUI ...
eucalyptus trees are so nombrous in my country as well,
i think your version is the best
but i like better when you paint it during the sunrise or sunset
since you are so good with saturated colors!
Lynda Robinson replied
I didn’t realise you had eucalypts in your country Ismail. Thank you for another great comment.

Douglas Hunt
You’ve got a wonderful composition in this piece, with beautiful flowing lines, and, as usual, it’s expertly rendered.
Lynda Robinson replied
Thank you Doug. The colours in this area of Australia are so bright and clear because the atmosphere is so pure. I want to go back there sometime.
Kate Eller
Another thing I have noticed by studying this gorgeous painting specifically is the way you pick the most dramatic parts of the day to paint. ( which makes sense ) The sun seems to be fairly low in the sky to make all those wonderful shadows you “paint” so well. Fantastic trees….and the light on the bark just makes their “gnarliness” stand out. You have opened my eyes about Australia…..and all it’s beauty. Amazing work Lyndy.
Lynda Robinson replied
Wow – this is another great comment from you Kate! The time was late afternoon for this one, so still quite bright and sunny in this part of the world. What a wonderful thing to say about your eyes being opened about Australia!!! I am very flattered. (I will educate you about the ‘footy’ later)!
Janis Zroback
As always with your work, this is a fabulous interpretation of a beautiful place….
Lynda Robinson replied
Great to hear from you Janis, and thank you for a lovely comment.

Most thoughtful to order the cushion and chair Lynda as I just punctured my rubber ring (these things always let one down eventually). Trying to blow it up in the club without being noticed ain’t eay either. Pleased to say I’m now reaping the benefits of the op’ and the discomfort was worth it now I feel ten years younger.
You know I’m sure you should be able to produce a video demonstrating your artwork which should sell like hot cakes – I could guarantee quite a few copies from our members for a start. Ever thought of approaching a company?
Lynda Robinson replied
Keeee-rikey Brian!!! I am so glad I don’t have any stitches because I would have just busted them after reading this!!!!
Mind boggling visuals re: the first part, and nice thought re: the second part, but I would be a nervous wreckage and the video would demonstrate how to produce a scribbled mess!
elenaoleniuc

Lynda Robinson replied
You are far too kind to me elena!!! Thank you very much.

nkbellani
Hahaha!..Oh..it’s 43dC or…109dF outside… my manners could only really melt out there!! ...most of my friends here call me Kumar or nk, some even call me enkay…so it’s all your choice… Lynda, I hope it’s ok to call you Lynda! wonderful to see you
Lynda Robinson replied
Kumar it is then Kumar!!! My friends call me quite a few names, but mainly Lynda!!!! You’d better go and rescue your manners before they all melt away in that heat, and it is wonderful to see you too…...
