You are a master of pastel

Where I grew up there was a huge eucalyptus across the road from us, as we walked to school, we would be walking over the berries that covered the ground crushing them with our feet as the scent wafted up around us…once more you have brought back a lovely memory of my childhood…
This is an incredibly beautiful painting Lynda…the rhythm and movement of the leaves, the reminders of the necessity of rain to keep the world green with the water droplets on the berries….composition, colour, everything that says perfection…

Not only a delightful painting Lynda, but some flora information to boot…maybe that should be gumboot. This is a very clever composition giving a 3D effect and the leaf colours and water drops are spot on.

Pat has said it all Lynda.The depth in this work is amazing. It is just so real…... and your explanation adds such poinancy to it all. The beautiful depiction of a simple plant shows how life springs back from tragedy. Is all well with you on that front?

This is very pretty. I like the way you did the background and the waterdrops. This is the first time I have seen eucalyptic leaves. I like the smell of eucalyptus because it reminds me of when I was a child and my Mother taking care of me.

The oils are used medicinally, and we had it at home as well….

It’s not easy being Green

For me this really brings back those misty mornings camping in the bush when it has rained overnight and using one’s ingenuity to find dry kindling to get a breakfast fire going. Nice work!

Absolutely beautiful – I admire your work greatly.

It’s interesting to see how many plant species in hot dry countries do use fire for regeneration – Proteas in South Africa being another. The problem is how terrifyingly destructive the bushfires are!! This is another superb painting, your work really is wonderful Lynda :-)
