'Good Morning Billy Hill'

Lynda Robinson

'Good Morning Billy Hill'

Pastel on Colourfix Sanded Paper (Burgundy) – 70cm x 50cm

This is another in the series of paintings I did along Hughes Creek at Tarcombe, Victoria, Australia. This is such a beautiful and isolated area! ‘Good Morning Billy Hill’ is the name of the hill in the far distance. I had an energetic climb to my vantage point at around 7.00 a.m. on the most glorious, warm, clear morning. There was a slight mist around. It was a ‘great to be alive’ day!

Oh, my gosh I could favorite all of your work!!! Such rich vibrant color and great compositions, Instant fan !!!!

  • Lynda Robinson replied

am so glad you like it! I suppose we are all our own worst critics, but I always find some annoying little thing about EVERY painting I do! I’m not going to tell you what it is with this one, but it hits me in the face every time I look at it! I guess the day I’m completely happy with a painting is the day I should give up!

  • Lynda Robinson replied

Chris I apologise for the delay in reply. I keep adding ‘comments’ instead of using the ‘reply’ box! I am not sure whether you got the reply below (which I just copy/pasted into the reply box). You must think I am rude!!!!

I’d normally say it would be taking a chance on using such strong blues but you knew what you were doing and it works perfectly. As with all your work I could wax lyrical but no doubt would be repeating myself too much. Needless to say I think you have a wonderful talent Lynda.

Oh my, “Lynda Light!” You blow my sox’s off with this awesome display of how atmospheric perspective should work. The little bright warm details highlighted in the foreground, then the most interesting patch of blue shadow and fabulous rich trees in the mid ground, and finally you patented stream leading the viewers back to the very believable distant wispy blue hills. Wow, I just can’t get enough of this!

  • Lynda Robinson replied

Ha Ha Ha!!!! Put those sox back on Randy!!!!! What a fantastic and well considered comment! I appreciate you taking the time to do this. This is one of my own personal favourites, so I was really thrilled and honoured that Elisabeta chose to feature it.

    Hi Lynda,

How many works have you got. This is fantastic, but I’m not surprised

    Well done on the feature

    DIKO

  • Lynda Robinson replied

What do you mean Diko. How many have I got, or how many have I done? I’ve lost count over the years of how many I’ve done. I still have quite a few I can upload. There are so many that I don’t even have photos of, and the quality of my old photos is not good enough to put on RB. As far as how many have I still ‘got’ actually in my possession – not very many!!!!

  • Guntis Jansons

    Guntis Jansons

A great work Lynda. The depth is fantastic and beautiful colours. It really takes you right in there. Lovely spot.

  • Lynda Robinson replied

That is a HUGE compliment coming from you Guntis! I really appreciate it very much.

  • Diko

    Diko

Yes, I know its hard to remember if you have been painting for a while. I meant that we haven’t seen posted.yet. but now that you say what is your output like, let’s say monthly average…

Myself I just started 16 months ago. (forgetting that i painted 12 paintings in the 1980’s) and I have completed 68 works, Many I have considered sketches and leanings
That’s about 4 – 5/month (wow is it that many???)

Anyway let’s see all your works on RB, as I’ve said before they are very inspirational
