Drought Relief
Pastel on sanded paper (burgundy Colourfix) 70cm x 50cm
This is a pastel painting. I was intrigued with the way the light was glinting on the raindrops on these eucalyptus leaves after a brief shower (which really did nothing to relieve the drought)!!!!

Hello Alan – This is the first time I have explored Redbubble and the first time I have put my work ‘out there’ so your comment is really appreciated.
lilylive
you have to be in australia right? the land loves it, but often thirsts for more here..
as koalas sing rainsongs, when they’re awake..
you have high talent Lyndarob, i thought this was a picture.. AAAAAAAAWESOME!!
my favourite part is the red stems, and that one blue-green leaf with smidges of red in the front :)
~lily
Lynda Robinson replied
I AM in Australia! There are so many colours in eucalypts which are not obvious at first glance. Many thanks for your kind comments lily….
lilylive
ahh had to be .. the euca leaves gave you away.. we have lots around here in the Dandenongs (Melb, Vic) ..and how right you are.. they are multi coloured, people often think they are grey green, but we know, don’t we :)—wow to think koalas live on these alone..

GEORGE SANDERSON
Your work amazes me, Lynda I can never acheive the clarity and detail with pastels, that you seem to manage effortlessly
Lynda Robinson
Thank you very much George. I love pastel. I don’t have to wash brushes and clean palettes, and I don’t have to wait for it to dry! I like being able to keep working. I would really encourage you to have another go with pastel George, and I’m sure you will become as hooked as I am!!!
David Parkin

Dear Lynda,
I’ve returned ‘the swoop’ and I love your work. Love the detail and how light reflects and reveals form. Well done.
I’m originally a country (Kyneton) person and find it easy to become totally absorbed in minutia such as the exquisite pale blue frosting of new sapling tips.
Lynda Robinson replied
Many thanks Glenda.
Carole Russell
This is beautiful Lynda, love the red twigs they sort of bind the whole thing together
Lynda Robinson replied

This is stunning Lynda! I don’t know how on earth you did it with pastels. The water dropplets are incredible and so real and I love the colours!
Lynda Robinson replied
Thanks heaps Colombe. The droplets were relatively easy to do with a dash of pastel, then blending with a paper stump, and adding some shadows among the drops in appropriate places. Thank you for a lovely comment.
