Beneath the fungi on a tree trunk. Taken with Canon Ixus 130 compact. After a week of heavy rain on the south coast, NSW at the beginning of autumn I took a walk between the showers. Held the camera underneath & shot! The tree was a ‘bloodwood’ gum.
fungi, nsw, south coast
Great shot and detail
Thanks Barb. Note the ants in the lower section….?…….
oh so beautiful! I love the curves and flare of these. Seems the ants do too…very curious as I don’t often find ants on fungi…wonder if there’s a flavor or scent here that attracted them. I LOVE gill shots!
After 4 or 5 inches of rain, I am wondering if the ants were taking shelter or moving house! Thanks for your comments.
Super find and capture!
Congratulations…your GORGEOUS fungi has been featured! Remember to submit to the March Features Challenge!
Beautiful! I love it, like the ants, too.
Thanks Kat. I really think the ants were sheltering from all the rain….
