Always good to have you stop by Deb, thanks for your great comments. I added nothing to this shot but a little texture, eerily it already had a painterly effect out of camera, especially the reflection.

And yes, Monet derived much inspiration from the waterlilly…but also many other things in nature. I believe that is what draws me to his art, and indeed, Impressionists in general.

I’m obsessed with photos of waterlilies and this is one of the very best I’ve seen, everyone has said it all but I have a new adjective for it -its has a pealescent quality to it and the light on the stamens is just amazing…
