Memorial portrait
My grandfather passed away a week ago, I painted this as a memorial, in a bit of a rush and with a deadline of taking it to the funeral – which is kind of a nice touch as he was a sign writer by trade and a great landscape painter on the side.
Was interesting painting a subject close to me that was a big part of my life growing up, hard at times, but lots of good memories.
I took the photo reference myself, last August.

Masterpiece!
Sorry about your grandfather. I was 5 when I lost my favorite g’pa. I’m 48 now, and it’s never stopped hurting. It’s just a lot longer between the hurting times. (((((huggs))))) from an old girl who knows how it is. -=Dayonda
