Oil Pastel on Canvas
1080 × 1600 mm

A secluded piece of beach in Harwich, Essex. I was out making several sketches along the beach, looking across this inlet towards a storm passing by. Suddenly the storm turned in my direction. It caught me and destroyed a lot of my artwork. However a sketch of this survived as well as my memory and photographs. I feel the sense of the storm turning on me and how it affected my mood comes out in this calm but soon-to-be tumultuous view. The sense of light and movement in the clouds and waves are very dramatic.
