A doryman returns from sea. Here on the beach at Pacific City, Oregon, USA a lone seagull notes another fisher.
dory, fisherman, pacific city or, seagull, haystack, man alone
I am an amateur, on and off photographer from Washington State, USA, who ever thanks you for stopping by.
Better bigger sized, if I may be so bold.
You have a kinship for the area where you live…it can be felt; especially your respect for the sea.
Oooh, such a compliment. We have a place here at Pacific City that we can visit three times a year. Yep…joint ownership. It is such a gift to see the sea for a week at different seasons. The ocean never is the same. Changes hourly really. That is a lesson to me.
ha ha, I grew up as a beach baby in So. California and have a great respect for the ocean, also. Never a “bad” day – always emotional and moody!…better be careful, I may just drive up the Coast some day to see this beautiful area and pop in on you!
YES! There never is “bad” weather at the beach. Come on up.:)
Thank you, Angela. It is dear of you to comment.
Oh… that is why love going to PC… to see the dories come in. Lovely shot!!
YES! The dory world is a wonder world! I love taking shots of them and wondering what the fishermen do on land.
Thank you, Lucinda. It pleases me that it caught your eye.
Thank you, Tori, for this.
Great photo! Love the lines & layers of gray; fine composition.. Aloha
Yes! That’s what got to me too. The lines and layers of gray. P.S. Love your island.
wonderful work Lucin, great mood and atmosphere.
It was the atmosphere that I had so hoped to deliver. Thank you, Anthony!
Goodness.. this goes straight to the shopping cart.. I saw this yesterday and came back to it again and again as I do with so much of your work L… damn you have a poignant nature, you just do, I am not going to say I can never.. but ,,, this wonder you bring to me of a common moment, is like my last poem. I know I scare people when I use death as a subject, but really dearest, you do not know what your work means to my heart. I see that in this life there is so so so much wonder and beauty in the fog, in the lightness of being… being able to see past the rush of mind right to the rush of heart which beats in every single thing… you are a master, truly you are a master.. thank you for this work you give us. I love you much.
Dear Thing, you see in me more than may be there, you know. It is a gift. Thank you.
