My first love is reading and writing, which branched quickly into poetry – affinities largely attributable to my very talented mother. I am much less talented at visual arts, especially on paper.

In my teens, I developed a great love for photography and have been annoying people with my camera ever since.

I am looking forward to branching my artistic capabilities out into a holistic focus, rather than that of just poetry and photography.

Some of my most favorite art pieces are from Ancient Greece and Egypt. I am fascinated with Pompeii and other archeological sites. History is very important to me as well as culture.

I hope that when you view my works, you will be moved. Maybe one will make you smile and another will make you cry. All art should stir something within a person’s soul, even if it is largely unexplainable.

I love the feel of this community and the support that is given in the forums and in posts. I love that we can be honest and diplomatic at the same time (for the most part).

I appreciate the hosts who devote their time to the groups and the artists who bring beauty into my world with every new page.

Namasté,

~Lu

The Sighting

Beautiful eyes and the same brown hair. / Not quite the same face; just close enough to make me stare. / My heart felt heavy & my eyes welled up. / My heart was beating so fast; mind unable to ca…

Screaming

Chariots full race unwinnable through spindly ways. / Late is the hour and sooner becomes the Death.

Papaw Told Me

I knew an old soldier, / Who took me back in time. / I was sick with fever, / And he sat beside my bed.

What Are You?

I could be your inspiration, / And you wouldn’t even know it.

Lamentations for Aubrey

Today is not a special day. / It’s been scary from the start. / Today you stopped breathing. / And our hearts stopped right along with yours.

Abiding Lunacy & Stupor

You think I don’t know. / You think you can trick me.
