About 6 months ago I got an email from a friend raving about Nikola Tesla and how he may well have been the difference between humanity ‘making it’ and ‘not making it’. And that we’ve probably cocked everything up now. That night I had some shared sustenance with another friend who had just returned from the Tesla Museum in Serbia and was also extolling his virtues and pondering what might have been.

This was interesting because I had been busy myself trying to make his signature look like lightning coming out of his Wardenclyffe Tower. Then, as usual, I sort of forgot about it.

An amazing man, who`s influences I`ve never been able to fully understand.
Also gives me great hope for OCD sufferers, but that`s beside the point.

For such a complicated visual, You`ve pulled this all together and somehow achieved a balance, especially with the layers of image cut-outs.

  • This has less handmade stuff than I usually like to use, but you know, I’m a busy fellow. There’s a lot going on. I can’t even be bothered explaining it all.

Did you see David Bowie play Tesla in ‘the Prestige’? Awesome (although he only appears for a few seconds).

  • I did actually. And he was excellent. Although the rest of the film wasn’t so much. Good in parts perhaps.

    thank fuck for that!
I’ve been sitting with a revolver under my chin waiting for something decent to appear on this site.
Thanks, see you in 6 months.
    Beautiful work (as usual)

I’m a fan of series, so glad you remembered to do this.

I once had a conversation about Tesla with a guy who really did put foil on his head so people wouldn’t hear his thoughts. He also had really cool chairs to crank up toward the roof so you could sit in he warmest part of the room in winter. Anyway, very cool design and i can’t pick why exactly, but looks like a bit of new direction in style for your work.

Hmm – don’t know how I missed this. Quite extraordinary.

  • Because you’re never paying attention.
