The world’s wildlife, in other words, is depraved. But we would be hard put to call it unnatural. Self-enforced celibacy, by contrast, is all but unknown among other animal species. If any sexual behaviour is out of tune with the natural world, it is surely that of the priesthood.
“Biological Exuberance”, a book by the science writer Bruce Bagemihl, documents homosexuality in no fewer than 470 animal species.
The church is no longer allowed to burn heretics and witches at the stake, so now it preys instead upon homosexuals and pregnant women, exposing gays to violent abuse, (Gay rights campaigners maintain that between 150 and 200 gay men are murdered in Italy every year.) seeking to prevent even the rape victims of Kosovo from taking the morning-after pill.
Homosexuality is surely both natural and moral. Can the same be said of the Pope?”

Our family dog was a homosexual, had a thing for legs too … and cushions, and the armrest on the sofa, and anyone that got dragged along the ground by me and my mate (that is to say, my little brothers).

As a lapsed Catholic I take grave offense that this made me snicker at this ha ha
The naughty penguins have one-stop-shopping “cloacas” for most of their business. I suspect everything reported in the book has been seen by naturalists for years, but dismissed because people found it upsetting. But it definitely puts a huge hole in the “natural” or “god’s will” argurment – does he send the penguins and bonobos to animal zoo hell?
tee design: religious allegorical painting of the arch-angels pointing and sending various animals to the fiery depths. Or a mock-up of dante’s inferno by H Bosch, with the tortures of the animals [oh we already do that on earth]. But you get the idea.
